Bespoke trophies for extraordinary moments
Bespoke TrophiesDrawing Inspiration from the World Illustration Awards 2019
The Association of Illustrators has been organising competitions that celebrate and cultivate recognition for illustrated works for over forty years. This year, in partnership with the Directory of Illustration, they hosted the World Illustration Awards 2019, open to illustrators across the globe.
Illustrators submitted work across eight categories ‘that reflect the breadth and diversity of illustration‘.
Patrick Dias, a Toronto-based designer and animator, took home a prize in the ‘Experimental’ category. Patrick created a series of handmade props and sets for use as concept images and promotional material for a short film. In the ‘Books’ category, Anna Mill won with a graphic novel that envisaged a near-future city.
Encapsulating and embracing the variety of style in an artistic industry for a worldwide award isn’t easy, but an acrylic tablet makes a great blank canvas.
Illustrating Excellence
We’ve covered some of the options with acrylic tablets on the blog previously. The World Illustration Awards are a fantastic example. Dual-layer print adds depth and interest to an award with a strong brand.
UV printers work a bit like the inkjet or laser printer you might see in your home or office. Unlike ordinary printers, the ink dries under UV light and prints on an array of materials.
Print is pantone-matched, so it’s crisp and colour accurate – a necessity not only for the World Illustration Awards, but brands, businesses and award sponsors in every industry.
Bright pops of colour, as well as dynamic branding, go hand-in-hand on these awards. Acrylic tablets are an undeniably versatile award, and designs are flexible and customisable for the ultimate bespoke award year-on-year.
