Gaudio Redesigns the Pride of Britain Awards

Gaudio was very excited and honoured to have been given the opportunity to redesign the Pride of Britain Awards this year.  The Pride of Britain Awards have been through several evolutions since the first awards ceremony took place in 1999, but the iconic design in its most recent format has stayed the same since 2006.  Gaudio has been the proud manufacturer of the Pride of Britain Awards since 2011, when we made several improvements to the quality of manufacture, including a bright nickel finish and machined aluminium base.  A rebrand this year gave us the opportunity to tweak the iconic angel sculpture for the first time since 2006.

The award was redesigned by Gaudio’s design team, making it a slightly taller, more elegant version of the previous award, while maintaining the iconic angel wings with their Union Jack flag imprinted on the back.  State-of-the-art rapid prototyping processes were utilised to make the mould for casting, ensuring crisp detail and a perfect surface finish.

The team behind the Pride of Britain Awards informed Gaudio of the winners’ details in advance of the awards ceremony so they could be engraved on the plaques attached to the base of the awards.  The star-studded ceremony took place on the 31st October with hundreds of celebrity & high-profile guests turning out to watch Britain’s heroes receive the recognition they deserve.

Gaudio’s team is always excited to see the awards we design and manufacture given out in televised awards ceremonies, but the Pride of Britain Awards are particularly special to us and are one of the highlights of our year.
