Jeremy Clarkson Wins Top British Farming Award

After a year that's seen massive change for industries of all shapes and sizes, the British Farming Awards celebrate the sustainability, innovation, and diversification of the British farming industry.

Last year’s ceremony took to the web, with virtual celebrations connecting farming professionals across the country. This year over 700 farmers and industry specialists travelled to Birmingham to celebrate ‘the Heart of UK Agriculture’. Hosted by television and radio presenter Vernon Kay, this is the 9th year the British Farming Awards have celebrated ‘innovative, determine and extraordinary farmers across all sectors’.

Winners were presented with custom awards from Gaudio, designed and manufactured in Gloucestershire.

Award for Clarkson's Farm Growing Success

Insight into the industry came from an unexpected source this year: Jeremy Clarkson. Clarkson received a special award for Flying the Flag for British Agriculture alongside co-star Kaleb Cooper, following the Clarkson’s Farm series. The award was presented to the pair for raising awareness of British farming through their hit series documenting the ups and downs of Clarkson’s Cotswolds farm.

“Behind every good farm is a great farming team,” Cooper said after winning the award. Clarkson described himself as a ‘trainee farmer’, and on winning the award he explained that Cooper, his teacher in all things farming, was the real star of the show, emphasising that ‘every farm has a Kaleb’ contributing to their success and perseverance.

The awards covered a total of 19 categories, with 15 runners’ up. Available in two custom sizes, each award is individually printed and personalised with the category and winners’ details.

It’s been a year of innovation and development for industry, and the British Farming Awards celebrate the individuals and technologies that have made it possible.
